My grandma still makes ghee and butter using an almost similar way to the tripod one. Just put milk fresh from a cow in gourd, hang it from a tree branch with a strong rope and then swing. The swing is done using a particular method. You can't just swing it and expect it to churn. I don't know how to explain it but it involves some kind of force shaking as you swing it. Tried it anf failed. Apparently, it's an expert's job ๐Ÿ˜…

Anyone else a bit more interested how the apple pie filling actually tasted...? With all the eggs, I wonder if it was more like an apple custard instead of a "traditional" apple pie filling (I say that, although how can you get more traditional that an 200-year old recipe..LOL!). I'd love to try it one day, and honestly if I don't go about trying to make the ingredients from scratch like Anne did, it actually looks like something that I could handle! Although, instead of apple I would love to try it with berries instead, like strawberries or cherries! It might take a while and bit of research on how to properly switch them out without messing up the recipe though!

Unfortunately I'm allergic to it so I have to rigorously check the packaging of makeup and food in case I end up having a reaction to it.
